Feel really goodâbe really well.
One of the oldest definitions of healing is, “the natural process by which the body repairs itself.” The Ancients understood that the body can restore itself to vibrant health, given the proper environment and nurturance.
At LifePath, we help you in your own process of self-healing by offering you both cutting-edge and time-proven modalities for getting and staying healthy in body, mind, and spirit.
Acupuncture
Acupuncture is the delivery system of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Traditional Chinese Medicine is based on Taoist Philosophy, although through the centuries, it has developed its own principles as applied to the art and science of medicine. The first to practice it were Taoist priests, and in their view, there were four levels at which one must approach each patient:
- The first and highest one is the spiritual level. Assess the patientâs problem spiritually, that is, how they might have lost sight of their purpose, or how they might not feel part of everything else.
- The next level is the intellectual one. Explain to the patient his/her problem in detail, the root that is causing it, the consequences of their life style and diet, the workings of their organs, muscles and metabolism.
- The third level is the emotional level. Help the patient discover his or her predominant emotion, when it comes, from where it arises and how it is affecting the body.
- The fourth level is the physical approach of helping the body directly to correct the flow of energy through the organs and meridians, with the hope that the rest of the individual, i.e. his/her soul, his/her mind and heart will follow.

Common Thread Coaching
To be coached during the inevitable shifts and transitions of our personal and professional lives is a threshold decision, a threshold being what poet Gregory Orr calls âa place where we are most able to alter our understanding of the world and of our own lives in it.â
In the beginning of the Coaching process, you bring a desire for change in some aspect of your life. As your life coach and advocate, Nancy uses conversation, deep listening, support, structure, and discerning questions to help you rething yoru stories – the thoughts, tales, beliefs, and habits accumulated over a lifetime.
This rethinking enables you to be in conscious conversation with all of your interconnected parts. It is a lively, wholehearted conversation, an active engagement with your intellect, your heart-and-body-felt knwing, and your intuitive gut feelings that allows you to explore and unleash:
- Insights and clarity that pinpoint what works in your life and what does not;
- The refreshing freedom of focused attention and creative choices;
- The ability to be mindfully present with an authentic, compassionate power;
- Supportive awareness tools, including improved focus, communication skills, and brain-based knowledge;
- A spirited adaptability birthed from the entirety of yoru experience and its core wisdom;
- An ongoing source of inspiration and strength within the common threads of your stories.
Craniosacral Therapy
Craniosacral therapy (CST) is a gentle manual manipulation of the back of the head used for diagnosis and for making corrections in a system made up of cerebrospinal fluid, cranial and dural membranes, cranial bones, and sacrum. The technique is somewhat similar to light massage that is aimed at freeing the flow of cerebrospinal fluid to restore balance to the physical and emotional body.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing)
EMDR can be used alone, or may be combined with other approaches, such as within Psychotherapy. This is a very successful treatment for traumatic situations.
At the time of a traumatic event, strong emotions interfere with our ability to completely process the experience and one moment becomes âfrozen in time.â Recalling the traumatic event may feel as though the person is reliving the event all over again because the images, smells, sounds, and feelings are still there and can be triggered in the present. When activated, these memories cause a negative impact on our daily functioning and interfere with the way we see our world, and how we relate to others.
EMDRÂ appears to directly affect the brain by bilateral stimulation: the patient is asked to think about what is the worst part of a traumatic memory and to be aware of any feelings, thoughts or body sensations which go with the memory. This memory is then held âin mindâ by the patient while the therapist encourages them to move their eyes from side to side for a short time, following the therapistâs finger.
Over time the disturbing memory and associated beliefs, feelings, sensations become worked through until one is able to think about the event without reliving it.
This process has 8 phases which are suitable in any case:
Phase 1: History and treatment planning
Phase 2: Preparation
Phase 3: Assessment
Processing the trauma
Phase  4: Desensitization
Phase  5: Installation
Phase  6: Body scan
Phase  7: Closure
Phase  8: Reevaluation
The number of sessions required to treat children and adolescents varies considerably and depends on the severity of the problem, the age at which it occurred, the number of problems they have, how long the problems have persisted and the childâs attachment patterns and sense of safety in the world.

Massage Therapy

As an accepted part of many physical rehabilitation programs, massage therapy has also proven beneficial for many chronic conditions, including low back pain, arthritis, bursitis, fatigue, high blood pressure, diabetes, immunity suppression, infertility, smoking cessation, depression, and more. And, as many millions will attest, massage also helps relieve the stress and tension of everyday living that can lead to disease and illness.

Naturopathy
An approach to healing based in the European tradition of Naturopathy.
The European style of naturopathy is an âeclecticâ approach to healing, where various tools and perspectives are incorporated in order to help set each individual on the right healing path. Herbal remedies, nutrition advice, flower essences, lifestyle changes and more will be recommended to clients as is deemed appropriate for the individual at the time. Dana often uses Traditional Chinese Medicine and/or Ayurvedic theory and diagnostic techniques (tongue and pulse analysis, face reading, etc.) as well as the use of Iridology, the study of the iris of the eye, to ascertain constitutional weakness and confirm suspected areas of disease in the body.
All of Dana’s work is guided by the fundamental principles of naturopathy:
- The WHOLE person is treated – physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.
- The PERSON is treated, not the disease, and each individual is unique and each person responds in a different way to different remedies.
- The root (underlying) cause of dysfunction is identified and treated, not the branches (symptoms).
- Vis Medicatrix Naturae - The Healing Power of Nature. There is ‘vital foce’ or ‘life force’ which, given the right conditions, will self-heal or self-correct.
- Health is much greater than just ‘absence of infirmity’ – it should be abundant vitality.
- Prevention is preferable to cure.
Pilates
Pilates is a physical fitnesss system developed in the early 20th century by Joseph Pilates in Germany, the UK and the USA. It is a body conditioning routine that helps build flexibility and long, lean muscles, strength and endurance in the legs, abdominals, arms, hips, and back. It puts emphasis on spinal and pelvic alignment, breathing to relieve stress and allow adequate oxygen flow to muscles, developing a strong core or center (tones abdominals while strengthening the back), and improving coordination and balance. Pilates’ flexible system allows for different exercises to be modified in range of difficulty from beginning to advanced. Intensity can be increased overtime as the body conditions and adapts to the exercises. No muscle group is under or over trained.
The Principles(*) of this method are:
- Concentration
- Control
- Centering
- Flow (Efficiency of Movement)}
- Precision
- Breathing
- ‘Powerhouse’
- Neutral Spine
Play Therapy
Stress within parent-child relationship?
Does your child present any of the following signs?
- Excessive anger, worry, sadness or fear
- Agressive behaviour (hurting others or self)
- Separation anxiety
- Excessive shyness
- Low self-esteem
- School problems
- Sleep, eating or elimination problems
- Difficulty adjusting to family changes
- Physical symptoms such as: headaches, stomach aches that have no medical cause.
Traumatic experiences often leave children caught up in the middle of parental conflict. The loss of a close family member, or other crises, can result in overwhelming sadness and anger, and pose huge difficulties for children, since they are very aware and sensitive to stress within family life. Because children have less experience, fewer coping skills and less control over their environment, yet react strongly to events happening within it, they will usually show their distress in indirect ways.
Psychologist Patricia Silva works with Play Therapy to create insight and understanding by the family members into the child’s behaviour and difficult feelings, suggesting ideas to promote change to help the child get back on track with his/her life.Â
Play Therapy is helpful for:
- Children who are dealing with parental conflict, separation or divorce.
- Children who have been traumatized (sexual, physical or emotional abuse).
- Children who have been adopted or are in foster care.
- Children who are dealing with issues of loss, such as illness or death of a loved one.
- Children who have been hospitalized.
- Children who have witnessed domestic violence.
- Children who have experienced serious accidents or disasters.
Pregnancy Yoga
Yoga of the Kundalini variety is a meditative practice that supports the physical, emotional and spiritual aspects of the mother through pregnancy and childbirth. Practicing Kundalini yoga helps to expand our abilities and choices by broadening our awareness of everything around us. Bringing the mental, emotional and physical into alignment through Kundalini yoga allows us to express our creative side and connect with our soul.
The pregnant mothers perform stretches, breathing and poses to help warm up the muscles of the spine and open the pelvis.
Kundalini yoga classes help prepare pregnant mothers for the physical demands of going through the birthing process, as well as utilizing breathing and meditation to help the baby adopt the breath of the mother. Kundalini views the yoga exercises as a means to send spiritual and meditative energy down into the pelvis, connecting with the baby and preparing for its arrival.

QiGong
Qi Gong, pronounced âTchi Kongâ, is a cousin of Tai Chi Chuan and is also part of one of the five branches of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It means literally âcontrol (or work) of the energyâ. It has certain similarities to a âslow gymâ, however there is always a focus and intention on the spiritual and the therapeutic.
The practice consists of slow and non-violent movements, combined with breath exercises and concentration of the mind. Thanks to the breath work, this thousand-year-old discipline helps the circulation of energy through the body.
The regular practice of Qi Gong calms and relaxes the mind. It reinforces the neuromuscular system and makes it more flexible. It optimizes the functions of the organism and sustains the strength of self-recovery. It guarantees good health and vitality.
Qi Gong is a practice for everybody, regardless of sex, religion, age or physical condition.
