SMA Meditation Community

Silent Meditation

Mondays and Wednesdays, 10-11 AM

The SMA Meditation Community is an open, flowing collection of people from different traditions (including various Buddhist lineages) who share a love of sitting in silence. We also share a love of spiritual community free of doctrine or belief, based in equality and mutual respect. Everyone is welcome. Because friendships with like-minded people support the inner path, we usually meet informally after sittings to share ideas and come to know one another.

Although the forty-minute silent meditations begin at 10:10 and end at 10:50, please feel free to come and go quietly at any time. Meditation assistance is available before or after the sit. For more in-depth meditation instruction, ask Ann Barden (Vipassana) or Jerry Steward (general) at jermer@hotmail.com, 154-0877.

All offerings are free, donations welcome. For more information or to be on our mailing list, contact:  SMAMC@lifepathretreats.com

Investigating the Teachings of The Buddha with Ann Barden, Insight (Vipassana) Teacher

Tuesdays, 10AM-12PM

In his teaching, the Buddha showed us how to bring an end to our stress and suffering right in the midst of the unavoidable human experiences of aging, illness, death, and loss.  His instructions are clear and practical advice for navigating existence.  At the same time, he showed us the possibility of awakening to our inherent perfection, of realizing the freedom that, in Ultimate Reality, is already ours.

Ann is also available for individual instruction and/or private interviews to talk about practice issues: bardena@comcast.net or 154.5104
