Usha Leason is a certified international Yoga teacher, Ayurvedic masseuse, and Lifestyle Counselor. She began her Yoga studies at the age of 18 in her home town Kidderminster and deeply resonated with the hatha yoga part, but it was not until she travelled to India in 1993 and stayed at the Sivananda Ashram that she connected to the spiritual side of Yoga.

“I had finally found something that spoke to every core of my being and naturally I wanted to share.” Six months later she went on to New York, where she took the Sivanandas Yoga Teachers Training Course, and later the Advanced Y.T.T.C. Desiring to deepen her understanding of the body, mind, spirit led Usha to The Ayurvedic Institute in New Mexico, where she studied under Dr. Vasant Lad.

She then returned to N.Y, where she co-ran a Yoga/Ayurvedic centre for several years in Manhattan. This is where she got to “Yoga Shop” and studied many other styles, which she now integrates into her teachings.

In 2001 Usha journeyed to Canada where she took the Yoga Development Course at the Yashodhara Ashram, there she learned how to look at the asanas from a symbolic point of view and their psychological effects.

Usha has been a resident in San Miguel de Allende since 2001; it is here that she has cultivated her own unique style of teaching. Her classes are a thoughtful blend of gentle warm-ups, stretches, postures (asanas), pranayama with space for individual exploration, reflection/meditation.
