Joseph Dispenza is the award-winning author of Healer, God On Your Own, The Way of the Traveler, Live Better Longer, and several other books and scores of articles about living a higher quality of life. He is a former university professor who lived for several years in a monastery learning personal spirituality firsthand. He entered the Order of Holy Cross early in life and lived as a monk for eight years – the first year of which he spent in total silence. Later, he left the monastery to pursue a more active life, working for social change with a number of humanitarian organizations.
After earning a B.A. in the Humanities and an M.A. in Communication, he was for several years the director of Education Programs for the American Film Institute in Washington, D.C., and later, a story editor for United Artists studios in Los Angeles. In the mid-1970s he left Hollywood for Santa Fe, where he took up the life of a writer. The House of Alarcon, an epic novel of a Spanish colonial family in New Mexico, was published in the United States and simultaneously in the United Kingdom.
Joseph created a highly successful academic program in Moving Image Arts at The College of Santa Fe (now the Santa Fe University of Art and Design), and served as its founding Chair for seven years, while also teaching courses in Media Ethics. In 1994 he met Dr. Hazel Parcells (1889-1996), a centenarian pioneer of holistic healing, who eventually became his teacher and the subject of his books, Healer and Live Better Longer.
In 1998, Joseph was introduced to Beverly Nelson by a mutual friend and began collaborating on articles on personal growth for magazines and websites. To expand their collaboration, they decided to create a retreat center in Mexico and picked San Miguel de Allende as the perfect place. In 2000, LifePath Center was born.
In 2011, Joseph retired from LifePath Center. In the same year, his book Older Man, Younger Man was published. The following year, with his partner, Mike Herbert (ND), he published The Chemotherapy Diet, a practical guide to feeling good during chemo and beyond, which includes 100 simple recipes, daily meal plans, shopping lists, and more, presented in an easy-to-understand format.
Joseph is a columnist for several on-line publications, including Beliefnet.com. His articles have appeared in scores of magazines, including Spirituality and Health, American Way, Massage Magazine, and Yoga Journal. He also practices independently as a spiritual and dream counselor.
Joseph can be contacted through Facebook or via e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Mike Herbert is a Naturopathic Doctor and Corrective Body Worker, with more than fifteen years of experience treating clients. He maintains a private practice in several naturopathic therapies, body work, and wellness counseling. His practice includes homeopathic weight stabilization and state-of-the-art computerized health analysis with the Asyra System.
Mike is dedicated to exploring the latest research in the fields of nutrition and natural healing. When his life was touched by a cancer crisis, he turned his full attention to investigating cutting-edge studies on the link between cancer and nutrition. This led to Mike’s first book, which he wrote in collaboration with his partner, Joseph Dispenza: The Chemotherapy Diet. Mike’s degrees include a Bachelor of Science in Natural Health and a Doctorate of Naturopathy.
As a holistic practitioner, Mike believes that the true path of healing must include, along with the physical, the mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of well-being. Mike can be contacted through Facebook or via e-mail at email@example.com.
